Global Ambassadors

Do you have a strong passion for intercultural experiences?  Are you looking for an opportunity to connect with others and expand your global knowledge?  Becoming a Global Ambassador may be just the thing for you!

Who are Global Ambassadors?

Global Ambassadors (GA’s) are UM students selected by the Office of Study Abroad to promote global learning experiences. They are recognized by the University of Miami for their contributions to campus life. GA’s are leaders among their peers and enthusiastically enrich the college experience for all students through various activities. They promote study abroad, build connections and help their fellow students develop an international scope to their academic experience. Some of the outreach activities that GA’s are involved in include but are not limited to: peer advising, tabling at events on campus and sharing information during classroom visits. UM Global Ambassadors also participate in study abroad programming such as Orientation, Study Abroad Fairs, Cultural Heritage Months, and COISO I-Week.

Additionally, GA’s have the opportunity to serve as UM peer mentors and work one-on-one with international exchange students to assist them in acclimating to life at UM and the U.S.
