Semester Study Abroad with Optional Internship

Semester internships are offered as part of select UPrograms.

These internship opportunities are for students who wish to add an internship component to their study abroad coursework. Students must be enrolled full-time (a minimum of 12 credits) at the partner institution. Internships count as one course, typically worth three credits, and are part of the study abroad coursework, in addition to other academic courses.

What is the Commitment?

Committing to a semester internship course is a significant decision, as these courses are demanding. They require a firm commitment during the workweek (Monday through Friday) and may include weekly in-person hours, self-study, project work, and additional course assignments.

Students will be making a commitment to a partnering company or organization, and once enrolled, they cannot drop the internship. Additionally, internship work schedules may limit a student's flexibility to travel during their study abroad program.
