Checklist for Faculty-Led Applications

Applications open in late October or early November. Deadlines for complete applications are approximately 7 weeks prior to the start of the January intersession and spring break programs, and 3 - 5 months prior to the start of summer programs.

Most faculty-led programs have the following application requirements:

  • Electronically submitted approval from your academic advisor
  • An in-person interview with the faculty member leading the program
  • A $500 non-refundable application deposit. Instructions can be found here.
    • Submitting the deposit represents a financial commitment to the program.
  • A series of questionnaires, including:
    • A printed, signed, and electronically uploaded participation waiver form
    • Confirmation you have or are acquiring a passport
    • Course(s) your Study Abroad advisor should register you in for your program abroad

If accepted, students will receive an acceptance letter from the Study Abroad Office directing students to complete post-acceptance requirements in the online application, including entering travel itinerary details into International SOS.

The faculty director(s) leading the program will provide pre-departure information including information on:

  • Purchasing airfare
  • A detailed itinerary with housing information abroad
  • Emergency contact information
  • Emergency procedures to follow while abroad
