Checklist | UPrograms & UM Partner Exchange

Deadlines for complete applications are approximately 3 - 7 months prior to the start of the program.  Please visit the program's brochure page for the most up-to-date deadline.

Most programs have the following application requirements:

  • Official or unofficial transcript, showing a cumulative 2.7 or higher GPA
    • We encourage students to electronically order their transcripts.  You can find a step-by-step guide of how to do this here.
    • You may also order transcript to be picked up at the Office of the Registrar or shipped to our office.
  • Electronically submitted recommendations from two faculty who have taught you in the classroom
  • An essay regarding the alignment of your goals with the chosen program
  • Electronically submitted approval from your academic advisor
  • A series of questionnaires including:
    • A printed, signed, and electronically uploaded participation waiver form
    • Confirmation you have or are acquiring a passport
    • Proposed areas of study while abroad
  • Upon completing the application you will interview with the Study Abroad Office

If accepted, students will receive an acceptance letter from the Office of Study Abroad directing students to complete post-acceptance requirements in the online application and information specific to the host institution: This email typically includes information about:

  • the nomination and/or application process to the host institution
  • applying for a visa, if needed
  • resources available from the partner institution’s website including, as applicable, the international student guide, housing information, and course selection information
